FORTY LIES IN 40 DAYS: #2 Commitment to Health Care Reform

Title X family planning care for 5 million people saves US taxpayers $3.74 for every $1 spent.

Title X care is an important choice for many low-income people; it may be their only access to health care; and it demonstrably saves taxpayers' money.

And Buerkle's reelection website proposes:

Real health care reform ought to be enacted in incremental steps that preserve patient choice, protect access to health care, and control costs without hurting job growth, reducing patient care, or slashing Medicare for seniors. [color added for emphasis]

Yet Buerkle would defund Title X and offers no plan to replace it.

FORTY LIES IN 40 DAYS: #1 TV Ad Accusing Dan Maffei

Our Gal continues, with a career founded on dishonesty, to lie.

A current TV ad claims that Dan Maffei was generous with taxpayer money at the end of his term in 2010 because he paid budgeted monies to soon-to-be-jobless staff. She talks like he broke into a bank.

What she leaves out is that this is standard practice with losing Democrats and Republicans alike.

Blueskygirl is taking bets that Buerkle and her tea party pals will do the same if and when they lose in 2012.

We will be watching.

PS: In the future it might make more sense for Congress to pay staff what they are worth up front. It just looks better.
